Things are looking up.... Way up!

I paid a lotta bills today, BUT we still have over $13000.00 to come up with to get to $0 THEN we can start saving for the new adoption center. That seems like a lot of money but I don't think it is, its just a lotta hard work. My head is spinning with fund raisers and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Tomorrow I'm getting up early so I can go to the Thrift store and grab a bunch of clothing to take over to RePets for a big clothing sale/fund raiser event. WE ARE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THIS EVENT! The First piece of clothing will cost $5.07 and EVERY piece of clothing you pick after that is just 77cents!!!!! THAT INCLUDES NAME BRAND CLOTHES!! We started this sale at the Thrift store today and every person that came took advantage of the sale. In less then 3 hours we sold over $300 in clothing giving us enough money to pay off our vetting bill at Westgate Animal Hospital!

We need HANGERS, PANT HANGERS and VOLUNTEERS to help with this clothing event. We also need help spreading the word about the event. We have 2 things to accomplish, 1) Make money so we can pay off the bills and start the saving for the building fund, and 2) clean out our storage shed that full of awesome clothing so we can store all our pet supplies till we get our adoption center back.

As a community I feel very strongly that we can get what we need done so that we can break ground on a new adoption center for my birthday March 23. Happy Birthday to me! *sigh* Seriously, I want this!

Can I count on you to help?

Today was a productive day!

I'm working on creating a whole new web site for RePets because not only is it seriously out dated, but I need to learn this stuff so I can keep people posted on all that's going on. I will admit that I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out, but its slowly happening and I cant wait till I'm don't so I can show it off..... I do wish I had a tutor.

I called the bank today to start the loan procedures to purchase a building for RePets Adoption Center. I'm scared to death that animals will suffer while we are fundraising for the down payment so my husband and I have decided to try and do a 2nd mortgage on our home. We will still need to apply for grants and fund raise to be able to remodel the location for the animals, But at least its a big step in the right direction. Please Pray that the lenders are generous and allow us to do what we need to do for a really low payment and interest rate.

We sold 36 squares in our puppy poo bingo today which was super exciting!!

3 adoptions today and some wonderful people brought us some supplies!

Today was a good day!

Today I worked at the thrift store so I could figure out how we can make more money from this concept. I felt so blessed that even in the super cold weather and snow, people brought us boxes of treasures. As I was greeting people, sorting thru donations and reorganizing the back room, all I could think about is how many people are depending on me to make the best decisions with this rescue.

This is such a hard job for a me because so many lives are at stake and if I make the wrong decision, then only the animals will pay the price. I am always very careful how I spend every penny because its their money and they are depending on me to spend it wisely. Which is why the closer Feb 28th comes the bigger the pit in my stomach gets.

For those of you that do not know, Our lease at the adoption center ends on Feb 28th. At this time we have no place to go. I have spent over a year trying to figure out the best solution, but no matter what the solution I come up with there's not enough money to make it happen.

We have decided it would be best to close RePets Adoption center till we can catch up on all our bills and then save money for a down payment on a building.
This is important for two reasons, a mortgage is less expensive then rent, and so we don't dump lots of money into a remodle only to have to move again when the lease is up or when the landlord gets a better offer. We also want a fenced in yard and we want our Thrift store and our adoption center to be in next door to each other so they will be a draw for each other.

The Thrift Store will stay open and we will start a savings at National city back once all open invoices are closed to save for when we move to our now location.

We will be doing heavy fundraising so that we can make this transition as soon as possible. Every day we are closed is such a waste of life. We are so proud to have rescued and found homes for over 3000 animals, and we feel strongly that we what we do is Gods work so we must work diligently to raise money and find a new location that best for the animals.

At this time we need prays, we need volunteers and we need money. If you would like to help, please email Tracy:
RePetsTracy@aol.com This is also our Pay pal email address.

thank you for your support, prays and donations, may God bless your family as much as he has blessed me with the gift to save helpless animals.

I know, its been forever since I bloged, but today as I sit here and another bad thing has happen and I have decided that I'm done crying, and I'm ready for the next step in life. For those of you that don't know, I did not have the desired childhood, and sadly at 38 I'm still suffering from that. I really don't want to go into details, but I wanted to put that out there so everyone know where my passion for animals come from. They give unconditional love which is something that I am addicted to because I have never really had that. I hate to see any life suffering, and I often step out of the box to ease someone or something's pain. If that offends you, I suggest you pray for the wisdom to become a better person, because I feel strongly that the Lord has called upon me to make a difference, and I plan to continue this work that I'm very passionate about.

My pitty part is over, what's done is done, I'm moving on. If they don't like the drive that I have, if they don't understand me, if they cant love me for who I am, then that's their problem! my new personal goal that I'm working on is being positive and not letting cruel people get to me.

These days I find myself consumed in fund raising. Our lease for the adoption center is over Feb 28th 2010 and we need to raise money to pay off all our outstanding bills so we can raise money to move in to a more comfortable place for the animals to live till they are adopted. We also want a high traffic area so the animals will continue to get adopted at the rate we are use to. We really need to purchase a building so the rent wont cause us to be in the boat we are in now financially. We also want to put our thrift store in the same building because it will be a draw to the adoption center and the adoption center will be a draw for the Thrift store. We also don't want a land Lord saying what we can and cant do because we want to be able to rescue all breeds, and all critters!

With all that said here is a line up of Fundraiser's we have planned.

Today was a great day at the Thrift Store, we made some final touches and OPENED!!!! It was late in the after noon when it looked completely open, so we only made a few sales, However we did sell several pieces, and People were so generous and gave extra! It gave me hope and renewed faith that this is going to work!! I CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW TOMMORROW DOES!!!!!

I got a call today that some kids came in and stole a kitten. I am so worried about what they are doing to it. We have posted a rule no kids under 16 without parents. Pray that the kitten will be returned, and the children punished.

I want to send a big fat thank you to all our donors! Yo know who you are!! The ones that slip a $20 in the donation bins, the ones that bring a bag of cat litter when we are almost out, and the ones that are stocking out thrift store with some of the coolest stuff! You are the reason that this rescue will succeed! your the ones giving me the drive to keep going, your the ones that are helping us save the lives of so many homeless animals!

Its happening!!! I spent the day in the cold rain with some awesome friends moving things into the Thrift Store even though the temperature was weird, we had so much fun going thru the boxes, and sorting things into departments. We got the INFO sign put up, and things should be clear to people so the donations will start coming in. I feel so much better today! Thank you to all the people that donated and thank you to all my friends that stepped p and helped me have a GREAT FIRST DAY!!!!

The Thrift store is located on the corner of Scottsville Rd and Small House Rd..... Look for the Banner, you cant miss it!

To clear up the confusion about us getting this space after all.... the land lord is having a hard time actually getting all his stuff out. I thought the pressure of us being there would encourage him to hurry up. Well it seem to work today... He got all his stuff pushed to half of the store and we have the rest to start moving things in, I didn't realize how much work this is going to be but that's OK.... If it goes like today, it will be an awesome expierances. I'm going to be sore for a while but awesome!!
